Community Voices

Share a concern. Choose how your story is used.

Families, educators, and advocates can help identify patterns in Colorado special education. Our separate submission form lets you choose private research use or consideration for moderated public sharing.

Community Voices submissions

Submit your experience using our Google Form. You can choose private research use or optional consideration for a moderated public story.

Two ways to share

Option 1

Private research use

Your account will be reviewed by Colorado Parent Voices to identify themes. We will not publish your individual story or quotes without further permission. Aggregate summaries may be published.

Option 2

Consider for public sharing

You may give permission for an edited, de-identified version of your account to be considered for the public Community Voices page. Nothing is posted automatically, and permission does not guarantee publication.

What you can tell us

Topics include missed IEP services, reading and dyslexia interventions, staffing and training, student safety, school closures, parent participation, transportation, and successful practices.

Protecting your privacy

  • Names and email addresses will not be required in the planned form.
  • Do not include student or staff names, dates of birth, student IDs, medical records, or identifying attachments.
  • A school, program, timeline, or unusual situation may still identify a person even if names are omitted.
  • We will review and edit any story before public posting; submissions containing personal accusations or sensitive details may not be published.
  • We cannot guarantee absolute anonymity or confidentiality. The form provider may process technical information, and legal disclosure obligations may apply.

How public stories will appear

When the project opens, selected stories may be displayed as moderated summaries organized by issue or district. They will be labeled as community-submitted experiences, not independently verified findings, unless we have corroborated the claims. No open comment threads or automatic publication are planned.

Need help with an urgent issue?

This project is not an emergency reporting channel or a substitute for a formal complaint. If you believe a student's rights have been violated, see our CDE complaint guide. For immediate danger, contact appropriate emergency or protective services.
